Usually when photographing hotels, we are concentrating on the rooms and public areas, so it was very interesting to go 'under the skin' on this assignment. Out client is a leading supplier and manufacturer of heating, cooling, and waste and water supply solutions, and they commissioned us to shoot the products they supply as fitted on location. As usual, there was a really narrow available time to do this as so many of their products are covered up before the project is completed, so we grabbed the opportunity and got in there to document what we could. I was really impressed at the workmanship that goes into so much of a building that is not even on show - beautiful runs of gleaming copper pipework, with clean symmetrical bends and neat, straight runs; chunky valves and techy looking dials; bold colours standing out against the shiny metalwork, and all playing a vital part in keeping the hotel operational.
