Amazing how often the window of opportunity for photography is so tight - and this shoot was a typical example. With a tight press deadline to meet, we arrived at the property to find the construction teams putting the finishing touches to a 'blank canvas'. The interior designers and assistants, stylist, marketing personnel, florist and all available hands got stuck straight into painstakingly dressing and preparing rooms and areas to shoot. With the stylist, we carefully set up and shot each space as it became available, paying particular attention to the subtle colour tones and low lighting to ensure the property's character was successfully conveyed. Where the fireplaces were not yet operational, we took pictures of fires in other rooms at corresponding angles to use later in post-production. Outside, all evidence of building work had to be edited out afterwards, even down to 'staining' the bright orange fence panels, to show the house as it would be once completely finished.
This is a great example of what goes into a photo shoot, and viewing the serene final images there is no evidence of the tremendous efforts of everybody on the day.
